Dan’s film Ballad of the City (made by Dan from public domain footage with his music) will feature in an online Instagram exhibition called Overthinker, between 25th April and 7th May 2021. Follow TymeLapse Studio for the exhibition.

A piece of Dan’s music has been used in the podcast Penny Drops.

In October 2019 the documentary Hidden History: The Lost Portraits of Bradford aired on BBC1 and BBC4. Dan provided the music for this project.

2019 sees Dan Potts on Sabbatical. He will soon be writing visual arts journalism for the Arts Council sponsored platform: Corridor8. Dan will soon be writing for The Long Players blog, on the history of 20th century popular music and Rock n Roll. Dan continues to review opera and classical music for Musical Opinion.

Autumn and Winter 2018 see Dan working on the music for two feature films and a BBC 4 documentary: The Jews of Leeds.

April 2017 has seen Dan Potts’s music used in a BBC1 documentary, which was broadcast on Maundy Thursday for BBC Religion. The program was titled: Bronx to Bradford: Friars on a Mission

In 2016, Dan Potts has so far composed and recorded the soundtracks for Talking Lens Productions short, Holding On To Nothing (Director: Raza Mallal) and the feature, My Jewish Auntie (Director: David Morton), for Made in Leeds TV. Holding On To Nothing is being entered into various film festivals.

In the first part of the year, Dan composed and recorded incidental music for the popular Channel 5 program, The Yorkshire Vet.

Over the summer of 2016, Dan has composed an album of Klezmer music for TV adverts and is currently working on such an album in a Baroque style.

In winter 2016, Dan is collaborating with directors on the trailers for two features with a view to the feature soundtrack itself. Dan will soon again be collaborating with Dave Morton for the composition of a soundtrack for his forthcoming feature. Dan is also composing the soundtracks for two shorts this autumn. More details will follow.

Dan continues to cover opera and classical music in Yorkshire for Musical Opinion, and visual arts exhibitions for Aesthetica.

It was with immense pleasure that Dan sang in Mahler’s 8th Symphony in June as part of Leeds International Concert Season.

Dan continues to play bass guitar with The Long Players, and with Emil Sparkes, with which recorded an album in May.
